14 tips for working from home

  1. Make «Do not disturb – I’m working» stick and place it on your door before start working. Every entering your girlfriend, mother, husband, or anyone, can disturb you and brake concentration.
  2. Turn off the TV. Even it’s MTV or Viva on. Commercial or some other voice can force you look on TV screen and you will be watching TV before you know, instead working on computer. If you can’t work without music, turn on Winamp.
  3. Turn off all messengers. Check your mail before and leave IM discussions for time after you’re done with work.
  4. Turn off cellphone. You don’t need messages disturb you either. You can read them later.
  5. Place coffee, juice, water, or whatever you need near you.
  6. One or two days in a month don’t tach the computer. Every home business can allow that and you need that for keeping productivity and creativity on your side.
  7. If you are more productive at night, work at night. If you are morning type, work after breakfast.
  8. Work few hours several times a day instead 10 hours continuously.
  9. Make pause when you feel you need one. Than, go to walk. Walk in a fresh air can make you a new man.
  10. Plan. Make priorities. If you must do something, do that first. make at least general plans. Without any plan, your work from home can turn into chaos and can be without expecting results.
  11. Make contacts with people who work something like you do. Join forums where people talking about your field, join their conversations. Read blogs and make comments there. That can only benefits you and make you more experiences.
  12. Don’t get any job. Webdesigner who accept to make 10 websites for a week can’t make all them good in that time. And than, he can loose good name. Website owner who put 20 affiliate links on same page will make less profit in compare with some 2 affiliate page. Remember, greed is bad.
  13. Automate whatever is possible. Discover shortcuts. Save time when you can.
  14. Be aware you are not cleverest man in the world. No one knows all. Learn from others every time you have that chance. And learn on your mistakes. Don’t make same mistake two times.
