Blogspot blogs on Digg first page
By acca | October 7, 2007
Almost all people who would like to see their story on Digg first page know that it is a little harder to do that with story on Blogger free blog. But we all see, from time to time, some blogger story on front page. OK, some of that submitters are using few tricks but I wondered is there a something we can learn from people who succeed in their attention. So, I searched what stories from Blogger blogs were on Digg front page. Number 100 on the list have 2304 diggs and number one have 6159 diggs. On list top 100 by most diggs, there are interesting facts you can notice. First, most percent of them are posted in “Offbeat News” - 20 stories. Here’s a list of following threads:
Offbeat News - 20
Design - 13
Tech Industry News - 11
Political News - 10
Software - 5
Linux/Unix - 4
US Elections 2008 - 4
Environment - 3
General Sciences - 3
Hardware - 2
Apple - 2
Business & Finance - 2
Celebrity - 2
Political Opinion - 2
Health - 2
Television - 2
Movies - 2
Xbox 360 - 2
World News - 1
Nintendo Wii - 1
Gadgets - 1
Playable Web Games - 1
PC Games - 1
Music - 1
Gaming Industry News - 1
Space - 1
Security - 1.
I noticed one more interesting fact. 30 stories from top 100 have one of following words in story title: Pic, Picture, Image, Photos, Drawing. I belive that attracted lots of Digg users to follow the link to full story and probably to digg it.
