Why is Adsense CTR less on forums
By acca | September 18, 2007
It’s known fact that Adsense Page CTR is less on forums than on common websites. This fact is for other advertisements, too. Why’s that? I’ll try to explain some of the reasons here.
1. Web forums have lots of returning visitors. There’s a big percent of same people coming to forum everyday. On Adsense you can see same advertisements on one forum everyday, so, if user sees something that interests him, he will click that ones, but not another time again.
2. There’s a lot of visitors coming to forum only to discuss some topics, and they usually don’t read nothing apart of topics of their interest.
3. On forums, visitors are usually experienced internet users. There are several researches telling us they rare click on advertisements in compare with novice internet users. They click on ad only if they are shore that the click will lead them to something that really interest them.
That was just something I started, you are free to ad more reasons.
